Testbed for ISOGG's mtDNA 2009 tree

Notes for ISOGG's mtDNA tree:
- The word Experimental appears on all of the pages.
- While the link to the tree trunk works, the tree trunk may not be accurate.
- Links work to mtDNA Haplogroup HV, J, K, T, U and V, but documents may be changed and are not to be considered final.
It as a test bed for what types of information we need to give specialized coding. The content
experts will decide what coding is needed and the design experts will design the style of
the coding.
- Link works to the Glossary. This is a copied from the YSNP Glossary. Some definitions will need to be
removed and more will need to be added.
- Link works to Papers Cited. This is an incomplete listing. Many papers will be added as
recommended by the content experts. Some papers listed may be removed because they are not
significant. Papers chosen for listing will be decided by the content experts.
- Link works to Version History. When we are ready to launch, all dating on the tree will change to the launch date.
Issues to solve:
- Need an expert subcommittee to determine what needs to be in the requirements document.
- Need a committee to decide what should be removed from the glossary, what should be added and to vet the definitions.
- Need to decide how best to represent the tree trunk - should it be in graphic form or indented form or other?
- Need to find web programmer to help design accessibility for web pages.
- Need to set our standards for coding the haploogroup charts and what will be included on them, i.e. only HVR1 and HVR2?,
only mutations found in peer-reviewed literatures?
- Need to set out standards for what papers to include. The YSNP group only included papers that were seminal to the
tree or to a sub-branch or presented a new SNP.
